This is the latest manifestation of the sickness of the Theocratic Right. Let me add that therapeutic intention (the ability of an individual to affect the wellbeing of another organism) has been well established in literally hundreds of studies (go to my personal website where you can download at no cost a bibliography that Larry Dossey and I prepared of this entire literature). So I take this sort of thing quite seriously. These studies show that negative intention does indeed have the power to reduce the wellbeing of the target organism. Stephan A. | It seems that I cannot say this often enough – I am not anti-religion nor anti-Christian, but I am completely and totally anti-extremism. One of the latest hatemails that we received at the Military Religious Freedom Foundation illustrates the type of person I am referring to when I talk about political Christians aka members of the bible-based cult of Christian Dominionism. These homegrown extremists have been indoctrinated by this cult to believe a plethora of falsehoods ranging from claiming America was founded as an exclusively Christian Nation to the notion that the 'right kind of Christian†is one that is Born Again and follows a specific set of rules laid out not by God, but by their leaders. These people seek to dominate American culture by extinguishing secular humanism and replacing it with a theocracy. Evidence of this abounds, especially in this 2012 election year as we are hearing ... |

Meanwhile those who have proudly gone to war with God (if there is a God?) stand there sticking their tongues out. Daring God to use His fist. And now they are getting upset because a few women are praying for God to back them up? Laughable. All political crap in an election year. Either that or they too are this whining bunch of babies running to the teacher?
I say lets see whose God is the strongest!
"Father in Heaven...you know all things. You plan all things. You control all things. And you command Christians to pray. Well, I ask you to smash Satan's teath out! Just hurt him in a way that will back him off. One way I ask is for you to send your Holy Spirit to Satans most used officers...while they sleep, Father. Show them your love and forgiveness in a way that will conquor their hearts forever. Make them front line warriors in your military, please. Father...forgive them...they know not what they do. In Jesus name, Amen."
The Messiah taught to Love Unconditionally, forgive those who offend and pray for our enemies. The Messiah also pointed out: "There will be those who are wolves in sheep clothing" as well.
To ostracize all Republican Christians due to a small groups actions is what Hitler did to the Jews. Which is most expected coming from any site that is pro-left.
Yahshua's Father is not The god of The Jewish Nation. This is why he told his brethren and sisters that they knew not him because they know not his father.
Not all Followers of The Way, The Truth and The Life follow a {Religious Doctrinal Creed} imposed by false teachers during Constantine's rule.
One must first understand "The History of The Scripts" before one can speak upon them. Men were called, The council of Nicene to create The Christians Bible by Constantine. This council "decided" what is inclusive and not inclusive in today's Bible.
Anyway... to understand what I am speaking of you will need to dedicate yourself to approx. 16 years of Formal instruction in the fields of History, Biblical History, Theology and Geology.
As well, I worship the Yah who Inspires Unconditional Love, The Father/Mother of Yahshua {Jesus}.
Have you ever wondered just why the OLD Covenant Contradicts The NEW Covenant in its theme and base root teaching?
Some "christians" forget Yeshua(Jesus) was a Jew & when asked which of the over 600 laws were greater,he replied love & forgiveness which encompasses all the others. As Jesus was not a "christian" , Buddha was not " buddhist".
Yahshua was also referred to as The Nazarite or Nazarene. The word Nazirite (can also be spelled Nazarite) is from the Hebrew term nazir, meaning "to consecrate" and is derived from the Hebrew root nazar, meaning "to separate". The man or woman who took the Nazirite vow took an oath to separate himself or herself from the world and even from close kinship affiliation to serve only Yahweh (Numbers 6:2), making the Nazirite totally "holy unto Yahweh" (Numbers 6:8). In terms of separation from one's family in service to Yahweh the term nazir is used of Joseph son of Jacob/Israel in Genesis 49:26 and in Deuteronomy 33:16, and therefore the special service of a Nazirite may predate the Sinai Covenant:
Genesis 49:26: "...blessings of the grain and flowers, blessings of the eternal mountains, bounty of the everlasting hills'may they descend on Joseph's head, on the crown of the one dedicated (= or consecrated, nazir) from among his brothers!"
Deuteronomy 33:16b: "May the hair grow thick on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the consecrated (nazir) one among his brothers!"
However you are correct The Greatest of all The commands was the two.. Love the Father/Mother with all thy heart soul and mind and love your neighbor as you love thyself-- on these two hang all the laws of the Prophets and Prophetesses.
Utter nonsense. I run across True Christians every day: In jails, in hospitals, in bar rooms, in poor houses, on the streets, everywhere. Most of them don't even know who Yahshua Emmanuel was.
You don't believe that they're true Chrisitians? There is one way to identify a True Christian: Ask them. They will tell you. You know a True Christian wouldn't lie to you, so if they say they are True Christians, they must be True Christians. It doesn't take 16 years of Formal instruction to understand that.
In the 1st century there was a sect of Zealots in Galilee under the leadership of a man named Judas. However, that does not mean that Galileans are Zealots, or that Jesus was a Zealot. I recognize that there was a member of Jesus' followers who was called "Simon the Zealot", but that would indicate that he was probably the only Zealot in the group.
Another follower of Jesus was called "Judas Iscariot". Some authorities have identified the word "Iscariot" with the "sicarii" which is another word for "Zealot". However, that identification is more wishful thinking than fact.
Rubbish. The council of Nicaea (aka: Nicene Council) did not decide what would or would not be included in the Bible. They merely confirmed what had already been accepted by the various church fathers which came before them.
"Anyway... to understand what I am speaking of you will need to dedicate yourself to approx. 16 years of Formal instruction in the fields of History, Biblical History, Theology and Geology."
You are a fake. You have not taken formal instructions in history, biblical history, theology or geology as presented by any accredited university or college.
Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh at you or pity you? In this incident, I pity you as you havn't a clue what your implying. John The Baptist: "Zealot"
a cousin of Yahshua. Yes, Yahshua was a Zealot and Nazarite under the oath.
The King James Bible has been altered. No Bible existed until The Council of Nicene met. Also known as The 70. They decided not only what was inclusive and un-inclusive they decide The Universal Creed of what a Christian was to represent.
In the 1st Century followers of the way were known of just that. "The people of The Way" They were not referred to as Christians until 3 centuries later. ; )
Acts describes the infancy period of the early Church, and begins with the Ascension of Jesus, the formation of the first community in Jerusalem, and the Pentecost, the Descent of the Holy Spirit. The Acts of the Apostles is an exciting narrative, and may be enjoyably read in one sitting. The spread of Christianity is primarily seen through the actions of Peter, actually the first Apostle to bring Christianity to the Gentiles, and Paul, with his four missionary journeys - three from Antioch, and his journey to Rome. Beginning with Saul's persecution of the Church, Christianity became known as the "Way" (see Acts 9:2, 18:25, 19:9, 19:23, 22:4, 24:14, and 24:22).
Case closed.
Who are those that are {TRULY} the Messiahs family? You say: "I run across True Christians every day: In jails, in hospitals, in bar rooms, in poor houses, on the streets, everywhere. Most of them don't even know who Yahshua Emmanuel was".
The Messiah says:
II. WHO WILL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN?
A. NOT EVERYONE WHO PROFESSES JESUS...
1. "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the
kingdom of heaven"
2. There are some who teach that as long as one believes in
Jesus, they will be saved
a. That salvation is by "faith only"
b. Even though the only time "faith only" is found in the
Scriptures, it says: "You see then that a man is justified
by works, and not by faith only." - Jm 2:24
3. But there is such a thing as "an unsaved believer"...
a. The demons believe, but are not saved - Jm 2:19
b. There were some who believed in Jesus, but were not saved
- Jn 12:42,43
c. Jesus described a true disciple as one who not only
believes in Him, but does what He says - Jn 8:30-32
-- Let no one think that just because they "believe" in Jesus,
they have a free ticket into heaven!
B. NOT EVERYONE WHO DOES MANY GOOD WORKS...
1. "Many will say to Me in that day, `Lord, Lord, have we
not..." - Mt 7:22
2. Here were people who not only believed in Jesus, but believed
they had:
a. Prophesied in His name!
b. Cast out demons in His Name!
c. Done many wonders in His Name!
-- I.e., they thought they had been empowered to do such
wonderful works!
3. Such good works certainly did not earn their way to heaven
a. Indeed, salvation is by grace, not meritorious works - cf.
Tit 3:3-7
b. Good works had not saved Cornelius, he still needed to be
told what to do to be saved - Ac 10:1-5; 11:14
4. Indeed, sometimes what we may think is a good work is without
any authority...
a. Jesus condemns these as those "who practice lawlessness"
- Mt 7:23
b. Literally, those who act without authority
1) It was not that they did something condemned by Jesus
2) It was that they did things for which they had no
authority!
-- We might be very religious, and do many things in the name of
Jesus, yet He might still say: "I never knew you; depart from
Me..."
[Who then will be saved?]
C. ONLY THOSE WHO DO THE FATHER'S WILL...
1. As Jesus said, "...he who does the will of My Father in
heaven." - Mt 7:21
a. Here is the dividing line: those who DO the Father's will!
b. As James would write later, it is the "doer of the work"
who is blessed in what he does - cf. Jm 1:22-25
2. Is this legalism?
a. No! Legalism is salvation by perfect law-keeping, believing
that one earns salvation by the merit of what they have
done
b. Salvation by grace does not preclude the necessity of
obedience
1) We simply need to recognize that our obedience does not
earn or merit salvation
2) When all is said and done, we are still unworthy! - cf.
Lk 17:10
3. The Father's will, while it offers salvation by grace, does
require obedience!
a. Only those who obey from the heart will be delivered from
sin - Ro 6:17-18
b. Christ is the author of salvation to all who obey Him
- He 5:9
c. Christ will come in judgment against those who obey not the
gospel - 2Th 1:7-9
CONCLUSION
1. Who will enter the kingdom of heaven?
a. Not those who profess to believe, but do not obey
b. Not those who think they are doing many religious things, but
without authority
c. Only those who do the Father's will!
2. This is why we must take an earlier statement in Jesus' sermon so
seriously...
a. "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness..." - Mt 6:
33
b. We must make the finding of God's will and rule the number one
priority in our life!
3. What is the Father's will? It begins with...
a. Repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ - Ac 20:21
b. Confessing Jesus as Lord - Ro 10:10
c. Being baptized into Christ for the remission of sins - Ac 2:38
-- Followed by a life of faithful service to Christ, confessing our
sins along the way - Re 2:10; 1Jn 1:9
Are you doing the Father's will? Are all those you mentioned?
Yahshua Emmanuel Messiah's word overrules yours.. sorry
Optimus,
You are still a fake.
Your ignorance of history proves it. A study of the anti-nicene fathers reveals that collections of Christian writings were already in existence by the end of the 1st century. By 140 c.e. Marcion had had a canon consisting of Luke and ten of Paul's letters. Other books were added to those. Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Origin and others debated the authority of various books, but Matthew, Mark, Luke and Juhn were held authoritative by nearly all the church fathers. And the early collections were similar to the present cannon.
The list published by Eusibius in 300 c.e. probably influenced the canon used by the Council of Nicea. But even after the Council of Nicea, the canon was not set, and there were additions and deletions made after that. But those are facts that you are completely ignorant of.
Mark 16:17-18
These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well.”
If you can't do those signs, then I guess you are not a True Christian. We already know you are a liar.
The Holy Spirit moves in the life of the believer to equip him/her in the service of God. Understanding the gifts of the Holy Spirit is important, because we live in a supernatural world and the gifts allow us to have an impact in this world. However, the problem is not every person who has the “Guarantee” of the Holy Spirit, uses the gifts of the Spirit.
What a Gift is not
We must understand the distinction between the Fruit of the Spirit and the Gifts of the Spirit. The fruit of the spirit is the result of the Spirit filled life, as opposed to living in the flesh. When we come to Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within the believer. When we submit to the Holy Spirit, we receive a life, which bears the fruit of the spirit. This goes for every believer; we should all bear the fruit of the Spirit, all the fruits. The closer our walk, the more like Christ we become.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23a
Love
Joy
Peace
Longsuffering
Kindness
Goodness
Faithfulness
Gentleness
Self-Control
The Spirit however equips the saint to serve, by giving him/her gifts for service. First Corinthians chapters twelve through fourteen deals with the gifts of the Spirit, chapter thirteen refers to the fruit of the Spirit, which is love. Its important to put the right perspective on the gifts and the fruit. Using the gifts of the Spirit without the fruit of “Love” is in vain, this is the point Paul makes. Paul contrasts the gifts of the Spirit with the fruit of the Spirit “Love”.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.
I Corinthians 12;29-31
Here Paul refers to a “more excellent” way, which is living in the Spirit, letting the gifts of the Spirit flow out life filled with the fruit of the Spirit.
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
I Corinthians 13:1-2
Paul compares having the gift of tongues without “Love”, a fruit of the Spirit, as a clanging symbol. Someone might have a gift of the Spirit, but that same person could be in the “flesh”. For example, a person could have fallen, from a state of being spirit filled and still exhibit the “gift of teaching” but that gift could be driven by personal effort as opposed to the Holy Spirit.
Manifestations of the “Spirit” or “Flesh”?
As we will see, the purpose to the gifts are to equip the church, if the person who has the gifts of the spirit, but not the fruit, questions should be raised, whether they are operating in the flesh or the spirit. The purpose of the gift is for the church, not for individual glory or praise. Individual glory or praise feeds our old nature, because we are taking credit for another’s work, the work of the Holy Spirit. The purpose is clear for the gifts of the Spirit, for the common good of the church, to build up the body of Christ.
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
I Corinthians 12;4-7
Since many of the gifts have an outward demonstration, it is possible for some to lay claim to spiritual gifts, when they are actually operating in the “flesh”. If there is a lack of “Fruit” then, we need to ask is the manifestation of the “gift” from the Spirit or the Flesh. Work done under the power of the “Flesh” does not reap eternal reward, but is burned at the “Bema” seat of Christ[1] (2 Cor. 5:10). We should therefore strive to test the force behind our gift. Is it flesh or spirit?
3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?........
11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
I Corinthians 3:3,11-15
Testing our gifts
We should strive to flourish under the power of the Holy Spirit, rather then our own strength. For this reason, we should examine the “gifts” we have. We should make sure they are from the Holy Spirit and not our own will and determination. If we don’t have the fruit of the Spirit, but have the fruit of the flesh, then we really need to question, the source of our “gift”.
On the other hand, if we are in the “Spirit”, then the progression of the Spirit is for the body, the church to receive the benefit. Therefore the Holy Spirit has a gift prepared for us, to serve and help the church advance the Kingdom of God.
We can use a wedding crasher for an example. However once exposed for what they really are .. out they go.
Irenaeus knew the John gospel , but it is questionable many others, as Tertullian, did. He labored to defend it for one reason: it showed that Jesus Christ was unique and divine : the word as God was also the word in the OT . The other three gospels didn't "know" that. At the same time he deplored others "quoting John" and imagining they were able to prophecy. His stand was that Satan had taken charge and the incarnation of the Son was necessary to defeat him. The three other gospels did not state that truth for him.
Love the title!
